Templates stationery

At my job, I find myself needing templates for creating stationery. There are a lot available online, but my favorites are the one from Mohawk (no, I'm not affiliated with them!). Great resource for designers: envelopes, dimensional, panoramic, and pocket folders.

In Design scripts

I've been hoarding InDesign scripts for year... don't know why, I love the way they streamline tedious tasks. I unfortunately do not know how to script. But thanks for the Internet! Below are a few scripts that I've been using a lot:

Rename_tomaxxiLINKrename [1.0].jsx

Simply rename linked files. Great for quickly renaming links without the whole fetching, renaming, and relinking

HurryCoverTry.jsx

This tool allows you to create perfectly sized hard covers or dust jackets which you can easily re-adjust the dimensions, the spine, the back and/or front flaps whenever you want.

FontReporter2.jsx

Collect used Fonts Info from multiple files.

AppliedFont.jsx

The script lists up to 15 properties of a font — either in style ranges, paragraphs, stories or the current insertion point in the active document. These properties are included in a new text frame on a separate layer. The respective initial position is marked with an arrowhead.

And for fun! WordalizerTry.js

Wordalizer is a script that makes a “word cloud” of the most common words in a story or document and lays them out in a clever and colorful way.

New Plugin for CS5 Suite

Here's a great plugin for Adobe CS5 Suite for designers who use stock photos: fotolia.com
It incorporates over 14 million stock photos directly into Adobe’s Creative Suite. I downloaded it, and it is pretty easy to use. Some features are still missing, like drag/drop without going to their website, but I heard that they are working on this.

My 1st blog...

Hi! Here's my first blog, just short of my 40th birthday. It is about time!

What to talk about? My life is pretty simple and uneventful (minus my daughter's antics, and my husband talent) so I think you might want to know what I like.

I love to browse the internet to know more about color, color management, color models... you get my drift! Also, I'm fan of Adobe InDesign and finding what this amazing software can do is always full of surprises.
